Iron On Greek Letters for Your Sorority Items

Make a sorority letter tote with these easy to apply iron-on Greek letters . You can find generic tote bags at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Just iron on your sorority letters to make a unique gift for a sister or for yourself.

These letters come in different styles as shown above, but you also can choose the fabric that you want them to be made from. The letters are made to order...your choice of style and your choice of fabric.

Choose from these fabric swatches for your custom made Greek letters:

If you have an iron, you can make a sorority tote bag that represents your sorority with these iron on letters.

If you would prefer to have a custom made totebag, you can order one! Pat has made hundreds of sorority totes by custom order. Her feedback is 100 percent positive so no need to worry about the outcome.

Now you can design your own sorority tote! Your design will be unique and customized to your specifications. Appliqued fabric symbols/letters, embroidered symbols/letters, embroidered sorority names in script or block lettering (all colors available). Tote bag fabrics are available in a variety of colors.

Your tote will be handmade not purchased, fully lined 12" by 14" denim or medium weight twill. Your Greek symbols will be machine sewn in your fabric selection and the style letters you want, 5 inch "bubble" or 4 inch "traditional" letters, and lined with the matching or color coordinated lining.

Besides the fabric choices that are shown above, Pat also has gingham checks, polka dots and solids in a wide range of colors. Your name, your big or little sis's name, or chapter name. (maximum eleven letters) can be embroidered on your tote to make it even more personalized. Shown are several totes that have been custom ordered.

Unique Sorority Ribbon Makes Special Sorority Gifts

Suppose you could find ribbon designed with your sorority colors and letters. If you had some bright colored ribbon with your Greek letters, you could make regular gifts into special sorority gifts by tying on a ribbon bow.

You are in luck because sorority ribbon is available for sale at Greekgear. Make sorority candy jars with a sorority ribbon bow...or tie a sorority bow around a vase and fill it with a bouquet of flowers.

Sorority ribbon comes in 10 yard rolls! great for decorating that special gift, your hair or whatever your imagination can dream up. The Sorority ribbon comes in the sororities colors.

Another idea is making ribbon bracelets.
You can use velcro dots for closure OR you can use jewelry craft clasps or closures for an even nicer bracelets. The sorority ribbon would make your handmade bracelet an instant hit.

Making your own little sister gifts saves money and gives something of yourself as you put time and effort into making something special for your friend.

The following photo shows sorority candy jars with plain ribbon. The ribbon with the sorority design would make your jar especially nice.

Greekgear has the best of sorority gifts. Everything you need for your favorite sorority girl. Shipping is only $5.95 no matter how much you get, so the bigger your order, the more you will save on shipping.

Lion Mascot on a Gift Bag for Alpha Delta Pi or Phi Mu Sorority Sisters

Make your sorority gift extra nice with a gift bag or wrapping paper that is decorated with your sorority's symbol, mascot, or flower.

Be on the look out for special gift packaging like this lion gift bag which would make a perfect presentation of a special sorority gift for a Alpha Delta Pi sister of a Phi Mu sister. Wrap your gift in white or colored tissue paper allowing extra paper to fluff up the bag and stick out of the top. The tissue paper (like a fancy bow on a wrapped present) somehow beckons to the gift's receiver, arousing her curiosity and adding to the sheer delight of receiving a special gift from her friend.

Handmade sorority gifts are extra special because the giver puts herself into the gift that she gives. If crafts or artsy design is just not your thing, you can buy ready made items and add your Greek letters or personalize with your lil or big sister's name using paint pens or a permanent marker like a Sharpie.

Georgia Southern Phi Mu Ladybug Gift Idea

Any Phi Mu sorority sisters from Georgia Southern?

If so, you will enjoy this post featuring a gift idea with your local mascot, the ladybug.

This is a matted picture of a ladybug with the saying,
"Phi Mu is full of bugs and kisses"

DIRECTIONS: for Phi Mu Ladybug matted picture (hand-drawn and hand-painted)
See picture at top of post.

  • You need a basic mat-this one is 5" X 7" with a round opening, but a rectangle will work, too.
  • Actually, a pink mat would be prettiest if you can find one.
  • Use any kind of art paper or even cardstock.
  • With a pencil, lightly draw your ladybug (it will probably turn out better than you expect!)
  • If you mess up, just erase and continue until you are happy with the drawing.
  • Use water color paints or colored pencils or even crayons to lightly color your drawing.
  • Use a fine sharpie pen or a scrapbooking fine felt tip pen to outline your drawing and to add the Phi Mu saying.
  • Tape your painting to the back of the mat AND it is ready to give to your big or little sister.

Kappa Delta Handpainted Frog-GA Southern & Newberry

So you want ideas for little sister, big sister gifts?

Start painting.

You can make anything special with a little paint. I painted a frog on the top of this paper mache box. If you stop by any craft store, you will find many items that you can buy, and then custom paint with your mascot such as this frog for Kappa Deltas at Georgia Southern U or Newberry.

Also, painting on a canvas tote is not hard. Acrylic paints are great for painting on fabrics. See the handpainted KD frog totebag or the KD hang pillow.

How To Make a Delta Zeta Sorority Picture Frame

Delta Zeta Picture Frame

Make the perfect frame for a cherished photograph. I think that the easiest frame to decorate is one that is painted solid white. You only have to paint your chosen design on a white frame to make it very special. There are any number of ways that you can decorate a frame. Your imagination is your only limit. This frame was very easy to complete. I used acrylic paint and a quality paintbrush.
  1. I started by painting the green and pink border lines around the entire frame. These lines follow the molding of the frame.
  2. Then I painted the sorority's name also in pink and green adding little hearts on the ends.
  3. Finally, I used the plastic end of my paintbrush to paint the dots.
  4. The picture doesn't show it, but the frame hangs by a lovely pink ribbon. This is easy to add with a glue gun. It makes the frame look lovely.

I would love to see other ideas for picture frames. If you have painted a sorority frame, please send in a picture for this blog. My email link is in the sidebar.

Phi Mu Lion with Special Necklace

Here is an easy way to make a stuffed animal such as this lion into a very special representative of your sorority, in this case, Phi Mu. Make a necklace with a ribbon chain and a charm from a foam star.
Simply
1. paint your Greek letters on the foam star
2. punch a hole with a regular hole puncher
3. thread the ribbon through the hole
4. Tie necklace round the neck
5. Add a pretty pink ribbon bow
Now look what you have made! So easy....

And by the way, other foam shapes will work well, too. A heart would be beautiful.
Check out these:
Teddy Bears for Kappa Delta
Turtles for Delta Zeta
Pandas for AOII
Lions for ADII, too.
Owls for Chi O (though stuffed owls are hard to come by) I plan to create a pattern for making a stuffed animal OWL very soon.

Also,
Dolphins
Frogs
Poodles
Unicorns
Ladybugs
Hannah Dolls
Penguins

Please send me a picture if you use this idea. I would love to see your results. (email link in sidebar)
Thanks,

Julie

Delta Zeta Design- Handmade Gift Idea

A new Delta Zeta design. I incorporated the turtle into the Greek "D".

Decorating plastic items is easy with paint pens. The pens are made to adhere to surfaces that regular paint would scratch off of. With a little practice, you can decorate almost any item and make it into a personalized gift. You have to try it.

Handcrafted gifts are more special anyway because you are giving of yourself. Also, it's fun and saves you a lot of money. Factory made sorority gifts can be very expensive.

A D Pi Lion Basket: A great inexpensive sorority gift idea!

What do you think of this basket?

I am trying to offer economical options for gifts since I am well aware that college students have to be very careful with their spending choices.

Another idea I would like to pursue, if I hear from some takers, is to offer a newsletter of Ideas for gifts you can make yourself for your Sorority Sisters. Let me know if you would be interested in something like that.

I accidentally had my BLOG comments turned off during the last month or so, but now I believe I have enabled them. Please leave me a comment if you have something to add. Have a Great Day!!
