A D Pi Lion Basket: A great inexpensive sorority gift idea!

What do you think of this basket?

I am trying to offer economical options for gifts since I am well aware that college students have to be very careful with their spending choices.

Another idea I would like to pursue, if I hear from some takers, is to offer a newsletter of Ideas for gifts you can make yourself for your Sorority Sisters. Let me know if you would be interested in something like that.

I accidentally had my BLOG comments turned off during the last month or so, but now I believe I have enabled them. Please leave me a comment if you have something to add. Have a Great Day!!

Creating Powerful Conversations During Formal Sorority Recruitment

By Jessica Gendron

People don’t join organizations. People join people.

A lot of you are probably a little confused and may even be thinking, what does that phrase have to do with creating powerful conversations? A lot actually.

Think back to when you joined you chapter and try to remember the exact reason that you joined. For most you, you aren’t thinking about a trophy or philanthropy event. You are thinking about a person, and not just any person, you know the exact name of the person that was the reason you joined. Right? For most of us, that is 100% true. We didn’t join because of some trophy the chapter won, or the fraternity they hang out with, or even the service project they do. We joined because of someone we had an awesome conversation with or that made you feel completely comfortable in the uncomfortable environment that is sorority recruitment. We didn’t join because it was Alpha Alpha Sorority (the organization), we joined because of Suzie the Alpha Alpha sorority woman (the person). READ THE REST OF THE ARTICLE HERE

Finally, I am posting something for Phi Mu. Hope you all like this little beige & gold lion with its pink & white tee shirt & side bow. The clothing was hand made to make him a Phi Mu Lion. Hopefully, this will be listed on ebay in the upcoming week.

For the Georgia Southern University Phi Mu sisters, there are ladybugs that you can decorate with a handmade Phi Mu necklace. Or how about some ladybug earrings?

Kappa Delta teddy bear looking pretty and green! Come see.

I have been busy sewing and haven't made time to post here. Sorry. This little KD teddy bear is on- of-a-kind. I made the simple little skirt dress to fit the bear and painted the letters. The satin bow just tops it off. Actually, the back has a little ric rac bow, too. This will be listed soon for sale on ebay.
I am thinking of starting an email newsletter that offers ideas and directions for handmade sorority gifts so that you can make gifts for your little sister or anyone else. Please leave me a comment if you think there would be enough interest in this for me to put some time into it for you all.
