Sorority Mascot Cutouts-Delta Gamma Anchor

Delta Gamma Anchor

I have found the cutouts pictured here in an eBay shop called the Texas Art Craft Store. They have a wide selection of wooden cutouts. Type your mascot in the store search box to locate the cut outs you need.

There are also wooden cutouts available at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, however, the selection is limited. The craft stores usually offers turtles, frogs, ladybugs, lions, butterflies, and some of the other mascots. The neat thing about these cutouts is they are prepainted and they are really cute. If you haven't seen them yet, see if you can find them the next time you are in a large craft store like the ones mentioned above.

Use acrylic paints and a quality art paint brush to color the wooden cutouts. Then you can use them for any number of gift ideas!....

Phi Mu Lion or Alpha Delta Pi Lion

Paint a bunch of your wooden mascots to make gift tags that will be treasured and saved. They also make very special Christmas ornaments to represent your sorority. It is easy to glue both ends of a loop of ribbon to the cutout to make a pretty way to hand it up.

Alpha Epsilon Phi Giraffes

Glue your handpainted mascot cutout on the front of a scrapbook to make a custom designed scrapbook. You can also decorate a journal or any notebook to make it represent your sorority.

These are so inexpensive and fun to decorate that you will enjoy thinking of friends to give them to.

How to Personalize a Delta Phi Epsilon Unicorn for Your Sorority

DIRECTIONS for personalizing a plush mascot:

Here is an easy way to make a stuffed animal such as this unicorn into a very special representative of your sorority, in this case, Delta Phi Epsilon . Make a sorority necklace with a ribbon chain and a charm from a foam star.
Simply.....

1. On the foam star, paint Greek letters
2. Next, punch a hole with a hole puncher
3. Thread the narrow ribbon through the hole you just punched
4. Tie ribbon around your mascot to make a necklace
5. Add a pretty bow
That's it!

Lion Mascot on a Gift Bag for Alpha Delta Pi or Phi Mu Sorority Sisters

Make your sorority gift extra nice with a gift bag or wrapping paper that is decorated with your sorority's symbol, mascot, or flower.

Be on the look out for special gift packaging like this lion gift bag which would make a perfect presentation of a special sorority gift for a Alpha Delta Pi sister of a Phi Mu sister. Wrap your gift in white or colored tissue paper allowing extra paper to fluff up the bag and stick out of the top. The tissue paper (like a fancy bow on a wrapped present) somehow beckons to the gift's receiver, arousing her curiosity and adding to the sheer delight of receiving a special gift from her friend.

Handmade sorority gifts are extra special because the giver puts herself into the gift that she gives. If crafts or artsy design is just not your thing, you can buy ready made items and add your Greek letters or personalize with your lil or big sister's name using paint pens or a permanent marker like a Sharpie.

Phi Mu Lion with Special Necklace

Here is an easy way to make a stuffed animal such as this lion into a very special representative of your sorority, in this case, Phi Mu. Make a necklace with a ribbon chain and a charm from a foam star.
Simply
1. paint your Greek letters on the foam star
2. punch a hole with a regular hole puncher
3. thread the ribbon through the hole
4. Tie necklace round the neck
5. Add a pretty pink ribbon bow
Now look what you have made! So easy....

And by the way, other foam shapes will work well, too. A heart would be beautiful.
Check out these:
Teddy Bears for Kappa Delta
Turtles for Delta Zeta
Pandas for AOII
Lions for ADII, too.
Owls for Chi O (though stuffed owls are hard to come by) I plan to create a pattern for making a stuffed animal OWL very soon.

Also,
Dolphins
Frogs
Poodles
Unicorns
Ladybugs
Hannah Dolls
Penguins

Please send me a picture if you use this idea. I would love to see your results. (email link in sidebar)
Thanks,

Julie

A D Pi Lion Basket: A great inexpensive sorority gift idea!

What do you think of this basket?

I am trying to offer economical options for gifts since I am well aware that college students have to be very careful with their spending choices.

Another idea I would like to pursue, if I hear from some takers, is to offer a newsletter of Ideas for gifts you can make yourself for your Sorority Sisters. Let me know if you would be interested in something like that.

I accidentally had my BLOG comments turned off during the last month or so, but now I believe I have enabled them. Please leave me a comment if you have something to add. Have a Great Day!!

Stuffed Lion - Pretty in Pink- Phi Mu Mascot

Finally, I am posting something for Phi Mu. Hope you all like this little beige & gold lion with its pink & white tee shirt & side bow. The clothing was hand made to make him a Phi Mu Lion. Hopefully, this will be listed on ebay in the upcoming week.

For the Georgia Southern University Phi Mu sisters, there are ladybugs that you can decorate with a handmade Phi Mu necklace. Or how about some ladybug earrings?

These picture mats are perfect for mounting 4" X 6" photos in a 5" X 7" frame. Two of the mat corners are handpainted: one with the mascot and the other with the Greek letters. I have the Chi Omega owl on gold, the Alpha Delta Pi lion on blue, the Delta Zeta turtle on olive green, the Kappa Delta teddy bear on dark green, and the Phi Mu lion on pink. These will soon be listed on ebay with a group of other handpainted gifts brought to you by Sorority Sisters Idea Shop. Take a look.
